BankTrust promotes Hood to assistant vice president

MONTGOMERY -- BankTrust has announced that Bill Hood has been promoted to assistant vice president for commercial lending.

Hood has extensive banking experience in the Montgomery community and has been a commercial banking officer with BankTrust since 2004. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University.

In another development, Jim W. Benefield has joined the local board of directors of BankTrust. Benefield is the owner of Carmichael Road Animal Clinic in Montgomery.

He has served in various leadership positions with local and state veterinary associations. Benefield is currently a member of the State Board of Public Health and the State Board of Veterinary Examiners.
